Travel Deal of the Day (June 16, 2010)

Most change fees (for tickets on US airlines) are quite expensive; fees often start at $150/ticket. American Airlines has a new option (named "Your Choice") for economy class, non-elite passengers available at the time you purchase your ticket allowing you to purchase an option offering $75 off the change fee as well as priority boarding and the ability to standby for a flight for free. The price of this option may vary based on your itinerary, but the introductory price seems to be around $10/way.

If you are purchasing a highly restrictive ticket for a participating American Airlines itinerary and you feel confident that you may need to change your ticket or fly standby, you may want to investigate whether to purchase the "Your Choice" option. There are various restrictions that apply for the program - to read the full rules, go to the American Airlines Your Choice Option.
