If you are 21-24 and are paying underage fees to rent a car, you should know that there are alternatives that allow you to avoid such fees. As summer break/vacation approaches for many people in this age category, recognize that such fees are often waived or reduced for members of a frequent car rental club. Also, some car rental companies offer special promotions that waive underage fees. In addition, if you have a corporate discount number, sometimes underage fees are waived when using that discount. Here is one example of a situation when a car rental company has waived its fees:
