Travel Deal of the Day (November 18, 2009)

If you have always dreamed of a New Year's Eve trip to an exciting location (New York City, Las Vegas, etc.), you may want to consider taking that trip this year. Due to the slagging economy and a variety of other factors (such as the H1N1 flu), travel demand is down this year. There is a greater likelihood this year that the normally sky-high prices on New Year's Eve in prime destinations will be much lower this year. (Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas is pushing its New Year's Eve package with rates starting at $199/night - see this link.) Rates over New Year's Eve in exotic locations will still be high, but probably not quite as high as other years. So, if you have always dreamed of such a New Year's Eve experience, this may be your year.
