Travel Deal of the Day (August 25, 2009)

As we are coming up on Labor Day, here is a note about planning a Labor Day weekend trip.

The Deal:
If you are planning a trip for the Labor Day weekend, be sure to check availability on off-peak travel dates to reduce your total airfare cost. You may pay less money by departing for Labor Day weekend on Thursday or Saturday (rather than Friday) and returning Sunday or Tuesday (rather than Monday). Also, be sure to check airfares at a variety of airports close to your origin and destination.

How:
Use an aggregator travel booking website such as Kayak or Sidestep for your airfare booking. Also, be sure to check the websites of low-cost carriers that might not otherwise be included in aggregator travel booking websites.
